Personal Brand

From Colorful to Dark

My personal brand has changed significantly over time. My original brand was called Creative Capy and it consisted of bright colors. I did several projects incorporating this original brand. However, I ultimately decided to change my brand because I did not feel like it accurately represented me or my style.

My Initial Brand: Creative Capy

When creating my logo for Creative Capy, I knew the concept and inspiration that I wanted to convey. There are so many photos of capybaras sitting in a body of water or a tub with an orange sitting on their head. I wanted to incorporate that iconic imagery into my logo design.

I eventually finalized a logo, color scheme and list of fonts which would then be incorporated into a business card design.

Why the Change?

I worked on several projects involving this design and came to love it. I strongly believe the concept is very cute and solid. Once the term had finished and we began truly developing our personal brands I realized that although I love Creative Capy, it did not accurately represent me or my inspirations. I am inspired by artists, designers, and directors who create darker art and I myself tend to prefer those ideas as well. I absolutely do not struggle creating works based in color and fun (as demonstrated by Creative Capy) but I ultimately could not see this truly representing me. Because of this, I decided to focus on creating a brand identity that I could better identify with.

My Current Brand: Night Crew Creatives

I decided on Night Crew Creatives because I am a night owl. I tend to stay up late working on anything from assignments to personal projects. The night is when I thrive and I know many others are the same. The new color pallet better matches my own personal aesthetic as I am often wearing darker colors. I still incorporated several different lighter colors not only for balance but also to communicate that my strengths do not exclusively exist with dark color schemes. Overall I feel as though Night Crew Creatives properly represents me and the brand identity that I would like to present.
